Snocross has officially reached the midway point in the season and FXR athletes are leading the points race in 13 out of 16 classes. Rounds 7 & 8 were held at a brand new venue—the Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo, North Dakota—which provided a massive track with a drop-down start, technical rhythm sections, and big air opportunities.

After balmy weather in Deadwood, reaching about 55F, Fargo dished out the opposite extreme with frigid temps dropping to -40F with windchill. Needless to say, keeping warm was the name of the game over the weekend. With temperatures this low, snow dust was certainly an issue, but visibility was no problem for FXR athletes who sported the new Pilot Goggle, keeping their sights clear.

FXR athletes continued their success over the weekend, bringing home 36 total medals.

STOCK 200

Current points leader, Tristian Hinton #313, took 3rd place in Saturday’s Stock 200 final after winning his second heat race.

Gvanni D’Antonio #990 made his second podium appearance of the season, scoring the big win in the Stock 200 final.

120 CHAMP

It was the definition of a “photo finish” as 120 Champ athletes crossed the finish line on Saturday night.

Jaxon Houkom #407 went 3-8 in his heat races and moved on to take 3rd in the final.

Tavin Knudson #722 scored 2nd place in Saturday night’s 120 Champ final after going 4-2 in the heat races.

Avery Hemmer #415 not only won both of her heats, but she also took the win in the final. Hemmer is currently one point out of first in the points race.

TRANSITION 8-10

Zach Miller #261 went a consistent 3-3 in his heat races and claimed the #2 spot on the box in the final.

JR GIRLS 9-13

Ava McCurdy #42, currently sitting 2nd in points, took 3rd place in Saturday’s JR Girls 9-13 final.

SPORT LITE

Kellen Chapuran #254 is in a close battle in the points race. Chapuran currently sits in 1st, but is only 7 points ahead of 2nd. Chapuran furthered his lead by scoring 2nd in Friday night’s Sport Lite final after placing 2-1 in his heat races.

Kyle Sand #210 rode impressively over the weekend, going 3-2 in his heat races on Friday and scoring the big win in the Sport Lite final.

SPORT

Kyle Kunstman #107 went 5-4 in his heats on Friday and went on to score 2nd in the final—his 5th podium of the season. After a questionable call in Saturday night’s Sport final, sending Kunstman to the back row, Kunstman had his work cut out for him and didn’t make the podium finish he was looking for. Kunstman is now tied for 1st in the points race.

PRO AM PLUS 30

Team LaVallee’s Andy Lieders #57 scored a perfect 1-1-1 on Saturday in the Pro Am Plus 30 class.

PRO SNOWBIKE

Troy Horbaty #157 took 2nd in both moto’s on Friday night, resulting in 2nd overall. Horbaty went another 2-2 in his moto’s on Saturday, resulting in another 2nd place overall to wrap up the weekend. Horbaty is now tied for 2nd in the points race.

Jesse Kirchmeyer #1 continued his winning streak, going 1-1 in his moto’s both Friday and Saturday nights, resulting in double overall wins. Kirchmeyer remains undefeated this season and is leading the class in points by 68 points.

PRO AM WOMEN

Tausha Lange #214 went a consistent 3-3 in her heats on Friday and raced to 3rd in the final. On Saturday, Lange breezed through her heat races with a 1-2. Lange scored another 3rd place podium finish in Saturday night’s Pro Am Women final and is sitting 3rd in overall points.

After a gnarly crash on Friday, Malene Andersen #93 had some work to do on Saturday. Andersen went 2-1 in her qualifying races and placed 2nd in the final. Andersen is now 2nd in the points race, only 10 points out of the close battle for 1st.

PRO LITE

Adam Peterson #113 scored double podiums over the weekend—2nd on Friday and 3rd on Saturday. Saturday night marked Peterson’s 6th podium of the season. Peterson holds a fairly large lead in the overall points race.

Boss Racing’s Jordan Lebel #511 returned to racing after an injury in round 1 sidelined him for the past few race weekends. Lebel looked stronger than ever, scoring impressively in his heat races and winning Friday night’s Pro Lite final.

PRO

Oskar Norum #40 continued his chase in the points race over the weekend, placing a consistent 3-3 in his qualifiers on Saturday and capping off the night in the 3rd spot on the box. Norum remains 2nd in the points race.

Kyle Pallin #324 was off to a good start, scoring 5-4 in his heat races which set him up for a nice front row pick in the final where Pallin placed 2nd.

The unstoppable Elias Ishoel #200 continued his success over the weekend, lighting the candles both nights with double wins. Ishoel remains the leader in the race for the championship.

The third and final stop of the Dakota Swing takes us back to the state of South Dakota for rounds 9 & 10—where Snocross will see another brand new venue and location—W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls on February 19th and 20th.
